We will guide you through the entire track), then we are off to next crossing at Ducie. We will then continue on to South and North Alice creek where we cross the border to The Heathlands Nature Reserve. Dulhunty River is next on our list it is a beautiful little river with lush vegetation and is a simple one to get through. We will then come to Bertie Creek and Cholmondeley Creek both are easy crossings before arriving at the most famous crossing on the track Gunshot Creek where we aim to spend the night Although we can't say for certain but we here is where we aim to be and if we arrive early enough we will get to sit back relax and watch other adventures concur Gunshot!
Day 6-
Today we will continue along the Telegraph Track we will head to Cockatoo Creek which is a beautiful creek with beautiful clear water although don't be fooled by its beautiful looks there are some nasty big holes you will need to avoid this is the first of many crossings moving forward we will have to walk first to find the safest possible route to get through. After Cockatoo Creek we will go past Sheldon Lagoon before crossing Sailor Creek. After crossing Sailor creek there will be on the left-hand side an old linesman's shelter (or what is left of it) with names of previous travellers underneath. Next comes some of the absolute highlights of the whole Peninsula. We will first stop at Fruit bat Falls for a swim (some people say it's the best swimming hole they have seen in Australia) it is picturesque with clear, cool water. Next we cross Scrubby Creek which doesn't look like much but water can go over your bonnet depending on how much water we have had over wet season.
Next we will venture to the beautiful Eliot Falls and Twin falls (another stunning swimming hole) is just a short walk away. This is our last stop for the day and we will camp at Eliot Falls campgrounds.
Day 7-
During today's adventures you will cross some extremely deep water crossings that are sure to go over your bonnet, we will guide you through the safest possible routes to get through these crossings.
Today we start off at Canal Creek which is quite deep and has an uneven bottom, so we will be walking this creek before entering to find the safest route. Now we are officially in the Jardine River National Park where our next crossing will be Sam creek, the bottom here is also quite uneven and we will also walk through before entering to find the shallowest route through. Next up is Mistake Creek, then we will continue on to Cannibal Creek the entrance and exit can be quite steep but is a beautiful creek crossing. We then will cross Cypress Creek which is known for its wonky log bridge, we will continue along the track pass The Poles of The Old Telegraph line until we get to Logan's Creek one of the deepest crossings on the whole track (although if you feel it's to hard you have the opportunity to to turn back to Mistake creek and take the bypass to the Jardine River Ferry where you will wait for the rest of us to complete the track) the water is murky and some say that it's a croc habitat but there isn't any official warnings/signs and we have never seen one there ourselves (although you will not be walking the creek we will). After Logan's Creek we will come to the last crossing of the telegraph track Nolan's Creek which is also very deep, and water will go over your bonnet here, we be getting out an walking this crossing.
Now you have officially completed the old telegraph track and we will take the Jardine River ferry across the river then continue to Loyalty Beach where we will now camp for the next few days.
